Support Local

Here are some of the suppliers we work with to help support local:

Thoroughbread – delicious gluten free, dairy free and vegan bread made by Rebecca Rolls in Levin, 86km away.

Bee Fresh Farms – Wellington Manuka Honey Company specialises in Manuka honey, with most foraged from the greater Wellington Region. Each product offers the goodness of a 100% pure New Zealand nectar. The honeys are not blended, heat treated or processed, retaining their raw, natural qualities from hive to jar.

Pandoro Bakery – freshly baked Vienna sourdough baked only 300 metres away.

Twocan Peanut Butter – a family owned father and daughter business on Tinakori Road made 2km away.  It’s the only peanut butter made in NZ that’s certified gluten free.

Zany Zeus – handcrafted organic dairy products from local cows, made in Lower Hutt, 12km away! Duppa uses blue and trim milk, creamy feta and yoghurt.

Mr Duppa features on our wall at The Pantry at Ohtel to pay tribute to the founding of the area.  Before Oriental Bay existed, the suburb was called Duppa after the sole resident of the bay and the first person to build a home there, George Duppa. He was an Englishman who came to NZ to make his fortune and in fact became the first “millionaire” in NZ. There are no photos on record of him, only a sketch. We love the history of the name and have developed a version of Mr Duppa into our story to keep the history alive.
